  • Title: Government of India Civil Services Examination

    Instructions:
    1. This examination consists of three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Personality Test (Interview).
    2. The Preliminary Examination will be objective type, while the Main Examination will be subjective.
    3. Candidates must carefully read and follow all instructions provided in the question paper.
    4. Use only blue or black ballpoint pen to write your answers. Answers written in pencil or other colors will not be evaluated.
    5. Write your answers neatly and legibly. Illegible handwriting may lead to the cancellation of marks.
    6. Ensure to write your Roll Number, Name, and Subject Code clearly at the designated spaces on each answer sheet.
    7. Do not write anything that may reveal your identity anywhere except in the specified spaces.
    8. Candidates are not allowed to carry any electronic devices, calculators, or study material inside the examination hall.
    9. Any form of cheating, malpractice, or disruptive behavior will result in immediate disqualification.
    10. Candidates must maintain discipline and silence inside the examination hall.
    11. Candidates are advised to reach the examination center at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination.
    12. Candidates must comply with all COVID-19 safety protocols as mandated by the Government of India.
    13. Candidates must not leave the examination hall until the completion of the examination and the invigilator’s permission.
    14. Any violation of the examination rules may lead to strict disciplinary action, including disqualification.

    Preliminary Examination:

    Total Marks: 400 (200 marks each for Paper-I and Paper-II)
    Duration: 2 hours for each paper
    Medium: English and Hindi (except for the language comprehension component of Paper-II, which will be in English only)
    Negative Marking: 1/3rd of the marks allotted to a question will be deducted for every incorrect answer

    Paper-I: General Studies

    – Current events of national and international importance
    – History of India and Indian National Movement
    – Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World
    – Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
    – Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
    – General issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity, and Climate Change
    – General Science

    Paper-II: Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT)
    – Comprehension
    – Interpersonal skills including communication skills
    – Logical reasoning and analytical ability
    – Decision making and problem-solving
    – General mental ability
    – Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level)
    – Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc.) (Class X level)

    Main Examination:


    Duration: 3 hours for each paper
    Total Marks: 1750 (including 250 marks for the Personality Test)
